Wed, January 4, 2006 - 11:35 AMI saw this a few years ago, with a few friends. We actually ended up having a few pretty interesting philosophical debates over it. I think the general consensus was that it was beautiful, and tragic, at the same time. (Kind of like _House_of_Sand_and_Fog_, I guess).

Sun, January 8, 2006 - 2:34 PMYes, this movie was awesome. It was my introduction to the world of Angelina Jolie. I fell in love with her while seeing this film. Angelina can definitely make ANY woman change her mind about sleeping with another woman. She is ALL WOMAN and so damn sexy. Oh yeah, she can act too. ;) I think she is the best woman action hero in the business. Who else can perform flips while shooting enemies with a gun in each hand? Tomb Raider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith are excellent examples of this. :) -

Wed, January 11, 2006 - 10:27 AMi really really love this movie. one of my favorites. i always end up relating to the characters she plays in movies (this one and girl, interrupted especially)... i think either a) she has really good taste in roles, b) she draws her role-choices from life experiences somewhat similar to my own, or c) both and more.
i had a really good friend recommend that i see this movie, because she thought that i related to people in a similar way to the way Gia related to people in the movie. i saw it promptly, and was blown away.
if anyone hasn't seen girl, interrupted, i highly recommend that one too. she's way less "glam" looking than in some of her other movies, but the character she plays is very well enacted, and very "deep". don't get me wrong, i reaaaalllly love Mr & Mrs Smith, and many of her other movies, but these two (Gia and girl, interrupted) are really amazing movies which demonstrate yet another amazing facet of her acting abilities. -

Fri, August 11, 2006 - 1:38 PMI'm kinda speechless on GIA, I mean, I own a VHS directors cut of it, and is one of my favorites that Angelina plays in. I mean, in GIA you really get a reminder of just how good of an actress she is, and how beautiful, sexy, strong and empowering she is through and through. The first time I watched Gia as the end neared and things got truly tragic and horrific I cried and cried and cried. Then after I watched it with one of friends three times in three days, I still cried around the end. I honestly got so captivated by Angelina's performance in Gia that I saw Angelina as Gia. Literally like I was getting to know Gia through watching the movie, I've had very few experiences where an actor or actress did such a powerful and amazing job that I saw the character and actor merge.
Angelina in the whole punk biker outfit and attitude drives me absolutely crazy! There's nothing, absolutely nothing about the movie that I do not like, and there's absolutely nothing about Angelina I don't like. Gia, Beyond Borders, Taking Lives, and Mr and Mrs Smith are my favorite movies with Angelina Jolie(I have not seen Girl Interrupted, though I have been wanting to since it came out) though she really knows what she's doing. Tomb raider was even fun, and I didn't think a movie from a video game would be so much fun but I did enjoy Tomb Raider and it's sequel. Gia still remains on top for me as a huge Angelina Jolie fan, not to mention I'm one of those lesbians that loves her to death, ALL of her in every way.
